|The Great Commission is Our Mission!
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in£ the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to
obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Hello My Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
My name is Robert Heard and I am a Pastor who is currently serving God in middle Tennessee. My wife and I have been in the
ministry for more than fifteen years and have been blessed with three beautiful children. In the last decade and a half we have
faithfully and passionately ministered in churches of many Christian denominations from all across the United States to all age
groups including children, teenagers, young adults and seniors.
The platform in which we have presented the Gospel and discipleship education consisted of church congregations, youth camps,
conference centers, sports stadiums, city streets and alleys, jails, missions and even soup kitchens. We have opened our home to
other families for small group studies and of course have done everything in our power to teach our own children how we (mankind)
are loved by Christ. Despite all of this, there was a time when we still felt that we lacked the full understanding of what God wanted to
accomplish through us for His Glory.
Over the last decade and a half, I have spent a tremendous amount of time in prayer and reading books by great pastors, teachers
and evangelist such as Charles Swindoll, James Dobson, Charles Stanley, Tony Evans, Max Lucado, Billy Graham and many, many
more. We took Seminary classes and sat through long seminars and outreach programs of all kinds.
Our education in the Word of God of course kept growing, but our understanding on how to apply such knowledge to new
Believers, was becoming more and more clouded. It was not until we took a moment to pause and then went back to the basics, the
very beginning of our own relationship with Christ that three simple truths became the source of discernment we were looking for.
The first truth was that we needed to understand who we are to God. In other words, does God see us as sinners, who are unholy
and fallen from Grace? Or does He see His child saved by Grace and made righteous by the blood of His Son Jesus the Christ.
Knowing how we stand at judgment guilty or blameless gives us a wonderful foundation to start our journey as disciples.
The second principle is simply accepting where we fit in this world as Believers in Christ. If we are like everyone else, then it is easy
to blend in and become part of the crowd. However, as we mature and begin to stand out among the world around us, adapting
becomes more and more irrelevant. Let me quickly add that standing out does not necessarily mean standing above.
Finally, we realized that there is a difference in knowing what God wants us to do and in putting His Commission to action by using
the gifts and tools He has given all Believers so that they can add their own unique contribution to His Kingdom.
Throughout this study we will discuss in more detail these three simple truths along with six ways in which Believers should walk
which summarizes how to live righteously.
What do we believe?
1st we believe that The Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in the righteousness,
so that the men of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3: 16 & 17)
We also believe that God is one yet exist eternally in the three persons. God the Farther, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. Jesus
who is the Christ is also God whom was born among His own creation and lived a sinless life obeying His own laws and
commandments. By His Grace He was crucified on the cross baring all of man-kinds sins so that by our Belief in Him, we can be
saved from Hell to reside with Him in all eternity.
What is Reflection Walk?
Every congregation desires to fulfill all of the needs of its people. Unfortunately, every congregation cannot be strong in every aspect
of their ministries. For example, many churches may be very strong in evangelism, yet need help with Discipleship. For churches
that may struggle in this area is still commissioned to disciple because all believers are commissioned by God to make disciples
(Matthew 28:18-20)! Rather you need a place to start in this ministry or if you are looking for encouragement, this is where
Reflection Walk can help.
Reflection Walk is a Discipleship Training Conference that serves as both an educational environment and a means to support
Missionaries: (sometimes referred to as Apostles) local, nationally and internationally. This conference has a unique approach of
teaching by the using multimedia and illustrations that relate to our everyday life. Making it relevant to both young and seasoned
Believers giving them the tools they need to reach the lost around them. The study is a proven method to help Believers grow in
their own faith and to reach those who need the Grace of God.
How Reflection Walk Works-
You can’t be Christ like without Christ in your life. So we begin with sharing our testimony and the Gift of Grace with the
congregation. This gives us the chance to share how Christ has delivered us from our sins and blessed us, while giving you a preview
of how to put the discipleship study to use.
2. Discipleship Training
Romans 3: 21-25(a)
But now an righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. The
righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall
short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented
Him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in His blood.
Living a righteous life is all about having a personal relationship with God. As Christians mature they are able to look back at their
own lives and take note of the events that had either almost instantaneously or eventually strengthen their relationship with Christ.
Many of these occurrences we count as victories, while others we may have consider them as failures. Whichever they may be to
you, this day by day growing relationship with Him is what I call our “Reflection Walk.”
The goal of this discipleship program is to learn how to continue growing stronger as Believers and then using your experiences to
reach others for Christ.
The material that is presented in this conference covers six ways (or steps) in which Christians should walk to Honor God. The
Scripture give us many more than 6, but I felt these pretty much summed it all up.
1. In the Light
2. By Faith
3. In Love
4. As Children of the Light
5. By the Spirit
6. In Newness of Life
Understanding what these 6 steps are and diligently working to put them into practice takes time, patience, humbleness, faithfulness,
success, failure and much, much more. You never graduate discipleship.
Local and International Missions
As mentioned earlier, this program is also a means to support Missions. The conference fee of $750.00 is where the support for
There is not an admittance fee to worry about. You can have as many people attend as you want. You can have a sponsor church
where the conference will be held and you can invite every church in town if you wish. We do not limit who can join the study.
The $750.00 is broken down and used as follows-
$500.00 is automatically given to local, national and international missions. There are no third party deductions for clerical or
maintenance fees before it reaches the needs of the missionaries. With this practice we are not only teachers of the Word but we
also serve as liaisons between domestic churches and the missionaries who labor in the international fields.
The conferences support local Christian substance abuse clinics, food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters and other local
Both national and international missionaries need books, clothes, food, travel expenses, housing, time with their family and much
more. We strive to meet these needs as much as we can. Every missionary and their needs are different and therefore, we reach out
individual to help them. One of the most import needs that all of the missionaries have is the need to communicate to the rest of us
what is happening in the mission fields.
$125.00 of every conference goes to a ministry we call Apostle’s Stories. Missionaries need to be in the field as long as we can
support them to stay there. Missionaries often sacrifice time with family and time out of the fields to go around the country trying to
raise funds to get back to their ministry.
Apostles Story is the part of the Reflection Walk where we introduce the missionaries we support and share their needs and the
blessings they receive. In the designated sections in the Reflection Walk presentation we tell their story. To do so more effectively we
go out to the field to experience what the Missionaries are experiencing. I use my gift as a photographer to photograph the culture
and the faces of those whom we are reaching. I act as photojournalist of sorts and also as liaisons between the domestic churches and
the missionaries who labor in the fields. The Apostle Stories fund pay for me to make these trips a few times a year.
The remaining $125.00 is a deposit to reserve the date on the calendar and helps us with basic needs. When the deposit is received
we email you a confirmation and the study journal and a work book in a pdf. The church can decide how they want to distribute the
The only other costs are different from church to church and are finalized in the planning of the conference. Some of these costs are
basically room and board as well as other traveling expenses. Every conference is different depending on the mileage to be traveled
and if motel or other housing that is agreed on by the church and us.
